Welcome to New England Dads

Welcome to our blog. This will be the first of what I hope will be many informative, fun, and engaging posts. I started this blog for a couple of reasons. First, I am a new(ish) father and my wife and I have done a lot of research into modern parenting techniques, as well as some good old fashioned ones, too. At the time of me writing this, my son is almost a year and a half old and over the course of that time, and the months when my wife was pregnant, I’ve learned a lot and I wanted an outlet to pass along everything I’ve already learned and everything I learn along the rest of this amazingly awesome journey.

Second, I had originally suggested to my wife that she start a blog – she’s always looking something up on her phone and finding neat pieces of information which I’m sure many moms would like to learn about – but instead, she suggested that I start a blog because there are a lot less daddy blogs than there are mommy blogs, and she was right (gents, get used to saying that if you aren’t already).

Before I ever put the proverbial pen to paper for this post, I did a lot of thinking about whether or not this would be an appropriate project for me since working a full-time job, maintaining a part-time military career, and taking care of a family and home is already an exhausting amount for anyone to manage. I wondered if adding this project would be too much.

However, as I thought about it more, I realized the potential this project has, not only for me but for my family, my soon-to-be father friends, and any other guy out there who just wants to read about diaper blowouts, baby spit-up, and temper tantrums in the manliest way possible … on his phone while hiding in the bathroom pretending to poop.

I have a lot of goals as I move forward with this. The first is obvious, I want to write content that is meaningful for you as a father and as a man. As I mentioned before, some of it will be informative, some of it will be funny, and some of it may just be downright interesting. My other plans I’ll keep private for now as I continue to hash out the details, but as they begin to bear fruit I’ll make sure to share them with you.

If you have something you’d like to see me cover,  or have a comment about something I’ve written, I’d encourage you to reach out to me using out contact page.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy your time on my page as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.

Respectfully,

Tim
