Recently, I stumbled upon an article from Business Insider about a young girl who wrote an adorable letter to Google asking them to allow her father to take a day off from work. It’s a few years old, but I thought it was such a great story that I had to re-share it.
The letter reads:
Dear Google Worker,
Can you please make sure when daddy goes to work, he gets one day off. Like he can get a day off on Wednesday. Because daddy ONLY gets a day off on Saturday.
P.S. It’s Daddy’s BIRTHDAY
P.P.S. It’s summer you know
The intent behind the letter is already adorable and the fact that the girl wrote the letter in crayon makes it that much better and apparently the people at Google agreed as they responded to Katie’s letter:
“On the occasion of his Birthday, and recognizing the importance of taking some Wednesdays off during the summer, we are giving him the whole first week of July as vacation time.”
A Google source confirmed the authenticity of the letter to a reporter at The Blaze.
So, thanks to Katie, her daddy not only gets his birthday off, he gets an entire week of vacation during the summer! Maybe I need to start having my son write letters to my boss?
