Calculate How Many Hours of Sleep You’ve Lost Since Becoming a Parent

As a parent, going to bed late, waking up early, and getting up in the middle of the night to take care of a fussy baby are all part of the job. At first, this interruption to your sleep cycle is an exhausting onslaught of punches to the face from a little known fighter named “Your Life Now.”

Fortunately, it doesn’t take too long to get used to your new sleepless lifestyle, well, you either get used to it or you’re perpetually stuck in a zombie-like trance where days and weeks blend together like you jumped through time a damn Time Lord. The jury’s still out on which of those two is the more accurate statement.

We know we get less sleep when we have kids, that’s part of the deal when you’re responsible for an adorably awesome little human being. But, have you ever wondered just how many hours of sleep you’ve actually lost since you brought your bouncing bundle of joy home from the hospital?

No? I don’t blame you, you’re probably too tired to think about numbers. Thankfully, a UK-based curtain company called Hillarys developed this handy calculator to help you determine just how many winks you’ve lost (and will never get back again!) since you brought baby home.

I encourage you to check it out, but be sure to have your favorite binky (or bottle of hard liquor, wine, etc.) handy because you’re probably going to feel exhausted just looking at the number it spits out.
